A warm welcome to Cölln‘s, Germany‘s oldest oyster bar. Fish and seafood have been traded here as far back as 1760.

The booths and 30,000 hand-painted tiles are heritage-protected and each tell a small piece of Hamburg‘s history. Famous personalities, aristocrats and merchants have all dined here. At Mutterland we are proud to continue this Hamburg cultural legend.

The aroma of fresh coffee and succulent bakery products linger in the air. The range on offer is diverse: Homemade „Franzbrötchen“ (sweet cinnamon pastries local to Hamburg), delicious muesli, fresh pancakes and warm egg dishes are the perfect way to start your day. Coffee from renowned Hamburg roasting houses is served together with our very own coffee line. We serve mouth-watering cakes and tarts from our own Mutterland bakery of an afternoon.

Sat. – Sun.: 9:00 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Whether fish, Labskaus (traditional Hamburg dish consisting of meat, fish and mashed potato) or „Königsberger Klopse“ (meatball speciality in a white sauce with capers) – we serve modern classics from German cuisine. Our weekly changing menu is inspired by the time of year and features a selection of seasonal dishes prepared with regional ingredients fresh from the local markets. We serve a lunch menu around noon and quick meals, which will leave you feeling well fed and content.

Cölln‘s also serves fresh cuisine of an evening with regional and seasonal ingredients. We use fish, meat and vegetables from small family businesses in the area. This means that we can conjure up timeless dishes, such as plaice to the recipe of Johann Cölln or our „Tegernseer Schnitzel“ (breaded veal escalope), which will go down very well at the end of the working day, before the cinema or when dining with friends. Cölln‘s also welcomes those who wish to enjoy a relaxing after-work drink in cosy surroundings.

Good for any occasion: Whether it‘s for a birthday, family celebration, company anniversary or Christmas party, whether just a single table in a booth or our entire event space steeped in tradition – almost anything is possible. We always provide the perfect setting for a business event or private party and look forward to serving you a set menu, an a la carte experience or a snack buffet depending on your wishes.

At Mutterland, we value traditionally produced, regional delicacies from all over Germany and therefore combine high-quality delicatessen items from small and medium-sized manufacturers for Cölln‘s.

Due to its uniqueness, Mutterland has been named "Store Of The Year" in the Food Category by the German Retail Association (Einzelhandelsverband, HDE).
